Alison is a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London who focuses on the intersections of Design Research, Science and Technology Studies, Patient Public Involvement (PPI) and Public Engagement in Science (PES).

Her practice-based research explores the concept of "patient experience" in healthcare and medical research settings, using design-led methods to create innovative health interactions. This results in tangible design objects that have practical applications in clinical settings, are exhibited internationally, and have a direct impact on patients' lives.
